Last May 11, 2018 I attended a one on one mentorship program at Mall of Asia organized by Go Negosyo (headed by Mr. Joey Concepcion). Just to share with you a story, Ever since college, Mr. Joey has created a big impact in my Entrepreneurial journey. I remember reading the books that he wrote and the inspiring stories in it.

When President Duterte assumed office in 2016, my biggest worry was that He is not a businessman and he might tech business reforms lightly. Fortunately, President Duterte chose a very able man to become the Presidential advisor for Entrepreneurship. No other than Mr. Joey Concepcion himself.
In the mentorship program, I’m particularly amazed on how the mentors gave time for it. All of them are known already in their own fields. I even saw Mr. Will Qa at the venue as one of the mentors. Indeed they gave time to give back to the community.
I was able to interview the Program Development Officer of GoNegosyo, Mr. Miguel Lopez, He told me that this is the first time that a one on one mentorship has happened in Go Negosyo and that they usually have seminars. We were even given the chance to be mentored in two topics: Entrepreneurial Mindset and Marketing.
I had the privilege to be mentored by Mr. Willy Arcilla, Go Negosyo’s Brand Healer.

At first, He had a hard time discerning my concern. I myself honestly don’t know what would I ask. But I focused on asking question about my brand, Emgo PH. He asked me a lot of things until at the very last minute we ended up with a light bulb idea.
Just to give you a background, Emgo PH is made to create products for security. Almost 90% of our clients buy our “Kangaroo Bags”
(1) Make a Product that would make Philippines known worldwide
When Mr. Willy said this to me, I know I can never forget our meeting. I already set my mind into something beyond I can do – To make a Filipino brand known worldwide. He eventually suggested a very good brand name.

(2) Set your prices higher
For the longest time, I follow the law of supply and demand. That if I sell my products at a low price, people would start to buy it. But It has an adverse affect to the brand. It makes it cheaper. Rebranding Emgo was a very welcome move and I couldn’t wait to look for investors to launch the soon to be known worldwide – Kanga.
(3) Give back to the community
I was so inspired to see successful entrepreneurs gather in an amazing event mentoring the next generation of entrepreneurs. Someday, I would inspire people to do what I was able to accomplish.
